Out of Area Patients
To provide the people of NSW with equitable access to Tertiary Health Care the State is divided into Area Health Services. Within these Area Health Services are population networks that are allocated to individual Tertiary referral hospitals.
Priority is given to patients who fall within these networks. St Vincent’s Hospital is a part of South Eastern Sydney and Illawarra Area Health Service. View map of SESIAHS.
Heart failure, cardiothoracic transplant services, Trauma, Immunology B Ambulatory Care and bone marrow transplants (match unrelated donor transplants) are state wide services.
Access to St Vincent’s Hospital outside of these established referral lines is achieved by consultant to consultant referral. All cases are reviewed individually to ensure St Vincent’s Hospital is able to meets its primary healthcare obligations.
Private Patients
Private patients may also be referred through consultants at St Vincent's Clinic.
